Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 June 2026
Talevo creates personalized, narrated children's stories. Because those stories are generated in the cloud and tied to a family account, the app does process some Personal Data. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have. Talevo is a family product and we take the privacy of children and parents seriously.
1. Data Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website and within the Talevo app is:
Bitfuse UG (limited liability)
Represented by: Jannik Niemer

Contact email: info@talevo.ai
2. This Website
Hosting
This website (www.talevo.ai) is a static site hosted by STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When you visit, STRATO's servers automatically log standard access data including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and the date and time of your visit. This is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (our legitimate interest in secure and reliable website operation). Log files are retained for a limited period and then deleted. STRATO acts as our processor under a data processing agreement and hosts the site within Germany.
Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages visited, referrer, approximate location (derived from a truncated IP address), device type, and interaction events. IP addresses are shortened by Google and are not stored in full alongside your other data. We do not use this data to advertise to you or to track you across other websites.
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the browser add-on available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by using your browser's tracking-prevention settings. Google's privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
No other tracking
Beyond the hosting logs and Google Analytics described above, this website does not run advertising networks, social-media trackers, or cross-site profiling.
3. The Talevo App
What data the app collects
To create an account and generate stories, the app processes:
- Your account email address (used to sign you in).
- Child profile data supplied by the parent: first name, age group, interests, learning goals, and an optional profile photo.
- Recurring story characters created by the parent (name, traits, and an AI-generated portrait).
- Generated content: story text, illustrations and audio narration.
- Learning history — which topics each child has explored — used for the in-app Learning Explorer.
- Subscription and purchase history.
- Usage data, IP address, and anonymous crash diagnostics.
Child profile data is supplied voluntarily by the parent or guardian operating the account, solely to personalize stories. See Children's privacy (section 6) for how we handle it.
How we use this data
We process this data to provide the service (generating personalized stories, audio narration and illustrations), to authenticate you, to handle subscriptions, to fix bugs, to comply with our legal obligations, and to detect fraud or abuse. The legal bases are the performance of our agreement with you (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR), your consent where required (lit. a), and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the app (lit. f). We do not sell your data and we do not use child profile data for advertising.
Where your data is processed
Your account, profiles and generated content are stored on Google Firebase infrastructure hosted in the European Union. A small number of specialised AI and payment providers process data in the United States; these are listed below, with the safeguards we apply set out in section 5.
4. Service Providers
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that operate Talevo for us, each acting as our processor under a data processing agreement and only on our instructions. By category:
Hosting & backend
Google Firebase (Google Ireland Limited) stores your account, child profiles, generated stories, illustrations, audio and any uploaded photos, and runs the logic that creates stories. All Firebase data for Talevo is hosted in the European Union.
AI story, image & audio generation
We use AI providers to generate each story on demand. Prompts are built from non-identifying profile fields (age group, interests, learning goals). Your child's first name is not sent to any AI provider unless a parent types it into a custom prompt.
- Google Gemini (via Firebase AI Logic, EU) — story text and the descriptive prompt for each illustration. Not used to train Google's models.
- Fal.ai (USA) — illustrations. Receives only the scene-description prompt — no account identifier, name, or other profile data.
- Inworld AI (USA) — spoken narration. Receives only the finished story text.
Sign-in
Firebase Authentication (EU) for passwordless email sign-in, and optionally Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google if you choose them. These process your email address and a user identifier.
Crash reporting
Firebase Crashlytics (EU) sends us anonymous crash reports (device model, OS version, app version, stack trace). Crash reports are not linked to you or your child.
Payments
RevenueCat (USA) records subscription and purchase events using a pseudonymous identifier. We never receive or store your payment card details — Apple and Google handle those directly.
Transfers to providers in the USA are covered in section 5. We can provide a link to any provider's privacy policy on request at info@talevo.ai.
5. Transfers Outside the EEA
Most of Talevo's processing happens inside the European Union (Firebase, Gemini, Apple and Google sign-in for EU users, Crashlytics, and website hosting). Three providers process data in the United States: Fal.ai and Inworld AI (image and audio generation) and RevenueCat (payment metadata).
Where Personal Data is transferred to the United States, we rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified, and on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback. Information about the Data Privacy Framework is available at https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov. You can request copies of the relevant transfer safeguards by writing to info@talevo.ai.
6. Children's Privacy
Talevo is a child-directed service that must be set up and operated by an adult. The account holder confirms they are 18 or older and the child's parent or legal guardian, and creates and manages all child profiles. We do not knowingly allow a child to create or operate an account on their own.
Child profile information (first name, age group, interests, learning goals, and an optional photo) is entered by the parent for the sole purpose of personalizing stories. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties except the processors in section 4, who act only on our instructions.
US families (COPPA)
For families in the United States, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Because a parent sets up the account and provides the child's information, we collect a child's personal information only with parental consent, which the parent gives when creating the account and each child profile. We collect only what is needed to generate stories, show no behavioral advertising to children, and never require a child to disclose more than is reasonably necessary.
As the parent, you can review the personal information we hold about your child, ask us to delete it, and stop any further collection by deleting the child profile or the account (see sections 7 and 8). To make a request, contact info@talevo.ai.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental involvement, contact us at info@talevo.ai and we will delete it.
7. Data Retention
We keep Personal Data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for:
- Account, child profiles and generated content (stories, illustrations, audio) — kept until you delete them or delete the account. We do not automatically delete inactive accounts.
- After account deletion — your data is removed from our active systems within 30 days, and from encrypted backups within 90 days.
- Crash diagnostics — retained for about 90 days by Firebase Crashlytics, then deleted.
- Server and hosting logs — kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
We may retain limited information for longer where the law requires it (for example, records relating to a purchase) or where needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
8. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port the Personal Data we hold about you. You may also object to processing, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Germany, your state's Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz).
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Object to processing of your Data.
- Access your Data and receive a copy.
- Verify and seek rectification.
- Restrict the processing of your Data.
- Have your Personal Data deleted. You can delete the account from inside the app — see our account deletion guide.
- Receive your Data in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@talevo.ai. Requests are free of charge and answered as early as possible, always within one month.
9. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access and delete that information, and to correct inaccurate information. The categories we collect and the purposes are described in sections 2–4 above.
We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not sell or share the personal information of users we know to be under 16. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To exercise these rights, email info@talevo.ai. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app and website evolve. The current version is always available at this URL. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or the App Store / Google Play release notes.
This privacy statement has been prepared on the basis of Art. 13/14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation).
